Yesterday, Judge Paige Reese Whitaker signaled that the Young Thug RICO trial may be headed to a mistrial.
At issue is a prosecution blunder, in which the state revealed that one of Young Thug's co-defendants is currently locked up on other charges. This is a big no-no
“Now the jury has repeatedly heard about Mr. Nichols being in jail, being in prison. And you cannot unring that bell. We would ask for a mistrial.” YSL lawyer Nicole Westmoreland aruged, “It is painfully obvious that the state is not prepping their witnesses.”
In front of Whitaker's decision on whether the trial could continue, Fulton County DA Fani Willis met with Young Thug and offered a plea deal.
The word is Thugger has rejected the deal, but there may be further negotiations.
CONFIRMED: No court tomorrow in #YSL #YoungThug. It appears plea negotiations are ongoing. The plan for now is Monday at 9am. @LawCrimeNetwork

If a mistrial is declared, the state could still refile the charges.
