A few days ago, we learned that the Cobb County DA's Office was still considering charging Young Thug and Birdman in the 2015 shooting of Lil Wayne's tour bus because of new information uncovered in a civil trial
Jimmy Carlton Winfrey (aka PeeWee Roscoe) was arrested for the shooting, which luckily didn't injure anyone. He pled guilty and got a 20-year sentence, but eventually beat the charge on a technicality.
Young Thug and Birdman had been named as conspirators in the original indictment. Now new information from the civil trial (the tour bus driver is suing Thug, Birdman, Winfrey, Cash Money Records, and Young Money Records for emotional suffering) has revealed that Thug called Winfrey eight times in the 12 minutes prior to the shooting and Winfrey spoke to Birdman after he was locked up.
"Time for you to come out here and get your money," Birdman told Winfrey in a jailhouse recording. "You did everything you could do boss ... it’s eye-opening. (It's) strictly business, man."
Neither Thug or Birdman have commented on the newly revealed findings. Nor has Lil Wayne, who doesn't appear to be talking to the authorities at all.
Both Thug and Birdman were beefing with Wayne during the time of the shooting.
