YNW Melly has been in jail without bail since February 2019 on two counts of first-degree murder.

The 22-year old is accused of killing his crew members YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser and faces life imprisonment or the death penalty if convicted.

His COVID-delayed trial should finally begin soon.

In it, prosecutors will try to use his tattoos to get the death penalty and the State of Florida recently filed a motion to photograph Melly's tattoos.

If they are determined to be gang-tattoos, the ink could be used to prove the murders were gang-related, which can turn a sentence of life in prison into the death penalty.

Other  “aggravating factors” that Melly may have working against him are that the murders may have been carried out for financial gain and were done in a “cold, calculated, and premeditated manner.”
