After less than a day of deliberations, the jury in the YNW Melly murder case has told the judge they are deadlocked.
The judge ordered the jury to go back and try again.

However, if they can't reach a verdict after that the judge will declare a mistrial.
Hung juries do not terminate jeopardy. In this case, the prosecution would likely decide to retry the case from the beginning without it being considered double jeopardy.
