YG and his 4Hunnid Records are moving from Def Jam to Interscope in what is reportedly a multi-million dollar deal.
The deal was spearheaded by Joie Manda, who worked with YG at Def Jam before being named president of urban music at Interscope.
“After the album came [My Krazy Live] out and had its success, Joie was really behind our whole movement and everything we had going on. [Joie] knew what I did, who I had something to do with. With the album being a classic, [DJ] Mustard popping off, Ty [Dolla $ign] popping off ’cause we all from the same camp, he felt like I could have my own label and do the same things that we did for ourselves and other artists," YG told Billboard.YG went on to tell Billboard that 4Hunnid is going to focus first on developing West Coast talent, but that he believes it will eventually have a country wide roster.
Congrats to YG. Or, in the words of his buddy Donald Trump, this is JUGE.
