Usher is the latest person to compare Nicki Minaj to Lil' Kim, and it got him in hot water with Nicki's fans.
T.I. made the comparison in the past but didn't receive as much backlash. The two women have been beefing ever since the "Anaconda" rapper came into the game.
They mad at Usher for saying NM is a product of Lil Kim. Lil Kim's influence can be found all over female rap. KIM took heat for sexually explicit lyrics, music videos & all just so yall favs could be comfortable doing it YEARS LATER. Denying it on Stan Twitter wont change that. pic.twitter.com/q45199yKsd

"Nicki is a product of Lil’ Kim,” Usher told Swizz Beatz during an IG Live session.

But a good number of people defended Usher and said he was right.
All these so-called “female rappers,” got their “how to be tacky & low-class image” from Lil Kim & Foxy Brown, Yep. Ain’t NO NEED in being mad at Usher. He speaking the truth. #LilKim & #FoxyBrown are “the architects and wrote the playbook.” On that whole deal. #Usher
