Underground Emcee And Battle Rapper Pumpkinhead Has Passed Away

Sad news from the Hip Hop world. Pumpkinhead (Robert Alan Diaz) died today at age 38.

So far, no cause of death has been disclosed, although there are reports it happened at a hospital. He was posting on Twitter as recently as Friday.

Pumpkinhead came up in New York City's '90s rap scene, and scored a minor hit with the track 'Dynamic' in 1997.

He released several LPs, most successful being 2005's Orange Moon Over Brooklyn.

He was also known for his guest appearances on albums by Immortal Technique and Jean Grae.

Pumpkinhead, who had started to go by PH in recent years, was also a long time member of the Battle Rap community, and in 2012 he had a KOTD title shot. Videos of him rapping and battling are below.
