Tyler, The Creator Talks the Possibility of an Odd Future Reunion

by Daryl Nelson

Tyler, The Creator is fresh off winning a Grammy for his album Igor, and he recently appeared in Jim Carrey's Showtime series KIDDING.

It's clear that his career is going extremely well, so is there any reason he would circle back and reunite with his Odd Future group members?

Tyler was asked about that on Saturday in London, as he took part in a program called the Converse’s Creative All Star series.

"Nine times out of seven, no," said Tyler about the idea of a reunion. "I would be open to it, but I think everyone is kinda past that. I think some people base it on nostalgia rather than like, 'Would it actually be good?' Like, we don't always need a Bad Boys 5. Even though I like the last one. N---a, it's there, listen to it."

"Honestly, the OF tapes weren't that good," he  added. "It was just a fun time, but musically, it's like, 'Uh, coulda did better.' But for the time it was tight. I think now and I could probably figure it out. I don't know if the styles will mesh much for a good cohesive thing. No niche like, 'Oh, this is a good idea.' Like an actually good thing. I don't know if the styles would mesh much with everyone. But who knows, this could change in six weeks."

Odd Future parted ways in 2015 and haven't reunited as a full collective since.

Do you think an Odd Future project would work in 2020?
