Nelly and Drake have some clear similarities.
Neither is afraid of singing, and both have a lot of female fans.
This has hurt their credibility with rap purists -- but they have each achieved a level of commercial success that's undeniable.
Today's game on Twitter has been to compare the two.
So far the argument seems to be going to the elder Nelly.
Arguments for Nelly:
Rap twitter is debating Nelly vs Drake. This shouldn't be a debate, Nelly went diamond before streams counted without a major co-sign.

The Nelly Drake debate is just people who actually listened to Nelly as opposed to people who didn't listen to Nelly. Simple.

Drake can't get anyone to care about the artists in his stable, Nelly had people bumping Murphy Lee

If we wanna talk about what Drake would've been in Nelly's era, be real, he would've been run out the game when those ref tracks surfaced.

For Drake:
Drake is viewed more than just a rapper he's basically a pop culture icon at this point, Nelly was never on that level
— Fuzzy Dunlop (@HeartBeigeKid) January 17, 2017
Drake just had the highest grossing rap tour ever and we really debating if at any point Nelly was hotter than he is?

Nelly sold a lot of damn records but the world didn't stop when he dropped something like it does with Drake

That's not even a question. Nelly was a household name but Drake pushing a level higher. https://t.co/R8a4baqVSb

As you can see, all the energy is behind Nelly. What do you think?
