Now that Adele has become slim, she's been showing off her body.
But with that power comes responsibility and Adele may have messed up when she wore this outfit to England's Notting Hill Carnival, a cultural festival honoring Caribbean and Black heritage.
Some of Black Twitter called Adele out for cultural appropriation. However, some of African and Caribbean Twitter defended Adele and argued Black Americans are too sensitive about such things. Check out some of the debate:
No one.

If 2020 couldn't get anymore bizarre, Adele is giving us Bantu knots and cultural appropriation that nobody asked for.

This officially marks all of the top white women in pop as problematic.
Hate to see it. pic.twitter.com/N9CqPqh7GX
Twice this weekend I have seen people do backflips to defend white women in Bantu Knots. If you spent the whole summer posting #blacklivesmatter and don’t see the problem here, you were lying the whole time.

Poppycock! This humbug totally misses the spirit of Notting Hill Carnival and the tradition of “ dress up” or “ masquerade” Adele was born and raised in Tottenham she gets it more than most. Thank you Adele. Forget the Haters. https://t.co/sabpPPRtID

We are the most unbothered people on the planet who have nothing but appreciation for everyone appreciating our culture.
Ya'll are miserable and ignorant pic.twitter.com/AL4lATICDh
Honestly this is exhausting, I'm a South African from the Zulu Bantu tribe specifically and i didn't take offence to Adele wearing Bantu Knots , it's not cultural appropriation and i doubt there was any malice intended by doing bantu knots

White ppl are offended by Adele and "cultural appropriation" but they don't care about the opinions of Jamaicans and Bantu people who don't see cultural appropriation and are not offended.
Cancel culture is bullshit. pic.twitter.com/B5diSrjjbw

Africans that are shitting on African Americans to defend Adele from “wrong” assumptions of appropriation were the same ones that rallied behind African Americans to drag Beyoncé that is actually Black over the same wrong assumptions of appropriation. There is a term for this... pic.twitter.com/ChsaxW0qgk
