Troy Ave Defends His Attacks On Capital Steez

Troy Ave and Joey Bada$$'s beef began in June 2015 when the two traded shots over who was the true Hip Hop indie king of New York.

During the back and forth, many feel that Troy crossed the line by saying Joey's Pro Era bro Capital Steez -- who committed suicide in 2012 -- was in hell.

Troy was on The Breakfast Club today. During the chat, Charlamagne suggested that the Irving Plaza incident, and Troy getting shot on Christmas Day could be karma for his nasty words about the dead.

“As far as me having karma, what’s karma? Nigga, I got shot in my head and I survived!” Troy explained. “This is a perfect example of how righteous I am, and how I do things with moral and principle. That rapper [Joey Bada$$] had a cousin that died; he died in a car crash or whatever…around that time. Now I could have made fun of that, but I didn’t do that, ’cause that man’s life was taken from him. That was an accident. That was unfortunate incident; that man’s life was taken from him. I purposely didn’t say nothing about that. But somebody who chooses to take they life ... ”
At this point, Angela Yee pushed back, saying mental illness was a serious issue. But Troy wasn't having it.

“At the end of the day, we in a rap battle. Nigga, Pac said some vicious shit to Big. Niggas had more vicious shit than that."
Troy starts talking Steez, God and karma at around the a hour mark. Speaking of Pac, Troy also compared himself to the legend during the interview.
