It took almost three months, but yesterday the hammer fell on Tory Lanez.
The Los Angeles district attorney hit the 27-year-old with one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle in the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, who he was allegedly dating at the time.
He faces up to 22 years and eight months.
Tory, who had already declared his innocence on his album DayStar, responded to the serious charges on Twitter.
⏰ will 🗣 ... and the truth will come to the light ... I have all faith in God to show that ... love to all my fans and people that have stayed true to me & know my heart ... a charge is not a conviction . If you have supported me or meg thru this , I genuinely appreciate u .
