Nicki Minaj demanded off Tory Lanez's track "Shooters" after they had a minor disagreement about her verse.
"She was on the record first and I was telling her something about the verse," Tory explained earlier this year. "I wasn’t saying it was bad or anything, her verse was incredible and I’m also like a super-Nicki fan. But I was telling her something about the verse and it may have came off. Cause I was texting her and it may have came off in a different way. She probably read it differently than I said it… I think it maybe kinda came off a little bit arrogant or I kinda said something I shouldn't have said about her verse and she was like “well nigga, it’s just not that serious, take my verse off the thing. We was like, “aight.'"
At the time, Tory said it was still all good with Nicki and he would be open to working with her in the future.
However, after hearing that Nicki was willing to switch a verse for Quavo, he's not so sure.
"My only thing is, I find it crazy, like, I never disrespected her, in the situation that happened," explains Tory. "I was just saying something about the verse, like yo, maybe we can try switching this part with this part. Just a suggestion, you feel me? But nah, 'take me off the song, dah dah dah.'
But then you get on an interview, like 'oh Quavo told me I had to switch my verse, and I had to go and take time and rewrite my verse ... I don't understand. I don't know. But you know, maybe their relationship is different. So at the end of the day, I'm not going to sit here and be like...but you know, come on!"
Perhaps the relationship between Nicki and Tory and Nicki and Quavo is different. Quavo certainly suggested it was in "Huncho Dreams".
