Super-star music producer Timbaland is in good spirits and good health, but that wasn't the case a few years back.
Two years ago, Timbo came out publically and discussed his painkiller addiction, admitting to almost overdosing.
Fast forward to the current day, and Timbo is dedicated to hitting the gym and staying in the right mind state.
He recently sat down with Men's Health Magazine and touched on his addiction, and current lifestyle.
"I had to get whipped, because I didn’t appreciate anything. All my life I felt it was a little too easy.
[Painkillers] It put me in a great feeling of not caring, of just being free. I’m like traveling, doing shows, popping ’em, having fun, just being ignorant."
Timbo's addiction also cost him his marriage and a huge debt with the IRS.
"I had to downsize, get all that superstar stuff out of the way. The only things that got me through it were my kids, my girl, the help of God keeping my mind still."
All in all, Timbo is down 130-pounds, but he said he still doesn't feel complete yet.
"I don’t feel like I’m complete. I don’t want to ever feel like I’m complete, ’cause my mind would probably get idle. God needed me to be clear so I could see what is needed, not what I want."
Keep up the great work, Timbo!
