The Weeknd got zero Grammy nominations this year.
This was shocking, considering After Hours was one of the biggest albums of 2020 and "Blinding Lights" was one of the biggest singles ever.
On top of that, The Weeknd, with his middlebrow radio appeal, is the type of artist the Grammys have a history of rewarding.
But reward they didn't, and now The Weeknd will never submit another song to the Record Academy.
"Because of the secret committees, I will no longer allow my label to submit my music to the Grammys,"Abel told the New York Times.
Weeknd is speaking of the lack of accountability in the Grammy nominating process. In 61 of the 84 Grammys categories -- including all the high profile ones -- the Record Academy can overrule the voters and switch up the nominations.
Does he have a point, or is he being a sore loser?
