The Kidd Creole, from the legendary New York rap group Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, has been charged with second-degree murder after stabbing a homeless man named John Jolly.
According to TMZ, the rapper, who now works security, was in Midtown Manhattan on Tuesday night where Jolly — age 55 — called him a gay. So Creole stabbed him twice in the chest and once in the head with a small knife. Jolly was pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital.
Cops used surveillance footage to nab Creole, and he was arrested on Wednesday. Police said they believe the gay slur was the only reason the 57-year-old rapper reacted so violently.
Jolly had multiple prior arrests and was a convicted sex offender.
So far there are no statements from Creole or any members of Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five.
