Tory Lanez's comparison of Tekashi 6ix9ine and 2Pac earlier this week on Tim Westwood's radio show got a good chunk of the rap community hot.
"It kinda reminds me of, like, Bobby Shmurda," Tory said of Tekashi getting locked up. "But Bobby Shmurda didn't even get to go as far. For somebody to go that far, you got Kanye, Nicki Minaj, your album's dropping. It's like, the only nigga who had shit like that popping was Tupac. When Tupac was in jail he dropped the biggest album. Not to say it was the biggest album of all fucking time, but it was a pretty big moment. It's sad he's gotta be locked up during it, is all I'm saying."
The Game was one of those bothered by Lanez's words and addressed them subliminally. (Flip through for Lanez's response.)
"Ya'll niggas got to stop with the 2Pac comparisons. Saying that this nigga do shit like Pac. Niggas are not 2Pac. Niggas are not comparable to 2Pac. Half you little niggas weren't even born when 2Pac died, let alone when his music was really popping. You don't know 2Pac to make that comparison. Stop doing that shit .. How the fuck can a nigga remind you of 2Pac when you was three when 2pac died," Game wondered.
Lanez, who had actually just turned four when Pac was gunned down, fired back by telling Game to cut out the subliminals and say his name.
Tory also denies he was really comparing 6ix9ine and Pac when he made the comparison between the two.
I did not compare 6ix9ine to 2 pac ... I just said they both dropped big albums from jail at the level of fame that they had . Get off my dick .
