The men Tekashi 6ix9ine pay to protect him are in hot water.
Five members of his private security team, Daniel Laperuta, Sammy Sprouse, Christian Cortez, Edgardo Cortez, and Kristian Fuhse have been indicted for robbery and criminal impersonation, according to Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr.
It all stems from an incident last August. 6ix9ine's goons reacted to a man trying to film Tekashi by chasing him and his girlfriend through Harlem in SUVs with flashing lights and sirens. When they caught him after a 20-mile chase, they took his camera and smashed it.
The victim eventually flagged down the real police. When the cops spoke to 6ix9ine's guys Laperuta -- who used to be an NYPD detective -- falsely told his old colleagues that the victim had pulled a gun on them. He is also being charged with falsely reporting an incident in the third degree
“A celebrity entourage is not a police department, and Manhattan is not the Wild West,” Vance said in statement. “As alleged, these highly-compensated vigilantes caravanned through the streets of Harlem with sirens flashing in order to track a man down and steal and break his phone. Along the way, a retired NYPD Detective tried to cover up their conduct by lying to his former colleagues and repeatedly claiming the victim had threatened to shoot them. False reports – especially about firearms – can carry devastating consequences and fortunately, no one was injured or killed in the actual police response.”
