Last week, Pop Smoke's posthumous album Shoot For The Stars Aim For the Moon posted a 249K first week. This week, Juice WRLD's posthumous album Legends Never Die is projected to do over 400K and challenge The Weeknd's After Hours for the biggest opening of the year.
In both cases, those numbers are significantly higher than the first weeks they had posted for the project before they died. (Juice did 165k for Death Race For Love, Pop did 36K for Meet The Woo 2.)
Tekashi 6ix9ine, who is a student of the charts, couldn't help but make a snide remark about that, with a bonus shot against the streets.
I'm surprised I didn't die yet," Tekashi commented. "But its not so bad being dead the way ya support the artist after they die. #fakelove."
What do you think 6ix9ine will do first week when he drops his first post-prison album?
And what do you think those numbers will be if somebody snuffs him out first?
