During Tekashi 6ix9ine's sentencing today, his biological father attempted to speak. However, time had run out and Judge Engelmayer didn't grant him the opportunity.
He was able to talk to reporters after 6ix9ine was surprisingly sentenced to 24 months, with 13 served, telling the press he was glad his son was staying locked up because he'll be safe in protective custody.
"I feel glad that he's safe in there, you know what I mean. Because, in there, nothing is gonna happen. Outside, they're gonna try to kill him because of all the stuff that he was saying," he said. "It's a scary situation. He's a target. He cannot hide. Because his face, tattoes, 69, he can't go nowhere."
6ix9ine doesn't have a close relationship with his biological dad. During the sentencing, he referred to his step-father -- who was murdered when 6ix9ine was a teenager -- as his real dad.
But at least his dad is looking out for him. 6ix9ine's baby mama Sara Molina seemed happy that Tekashi's going to stay locked up but it had nothing to do with his safety.
