Tekashi 6ix9ine's Lawyer Says Feds Are Overcharging

by HHL JT

Tekashi 6ix9ine is facing life in Federal prison on six racketeering and gun charges.

They relate to an April 3 gunpoint robbery, an April 21 gang-related shooting at the Barclay's Center, and a July 16 incident in which Tekashi allegedly agreed to the shooting of someone who had disrespected his (then) Treway set and an innocent bystander was hit in the foot.

In an interview with XXL, 6ix9ine's lawyer Lance Lazzaro said the Feds are overreaching by charging his client as they have.

"I believe that the charges against him is an over-charge by the U.S. Attorney's Office and that when the facts come out I am confident that the charges will be dismissed as it relates to Daniel Hernandez Tekashi 6ix9ine," Lazzaro says.

I don't believe that [6ix9ine] participated in any of the three instances that they're referring to. [6ix9ine was] not even in the state of New York [for] the July 16 incident. Yet he's being charged with a shooting when he wasn't even in the state of New York. And you can't be guilty of a crime if you're not present."

The July 16 incident is the most serious and comes with a minimum of 25 years (full Fed time) and a maximum of life.

Do you think the Feds could be overcharging 6ix9ine because they think he'll flip? Maybe that's why they put him in general pop even though prosecutors conceded they think Treway members are looking to "super violate" him.
