All but two of the 11 Nine Treys charged in Tekashi 6ix9ine's racketeering case have taken plea deals.
The two that haven't, Aljermiah "Nuke" Mack and Anthony "Harv" Ellison, have something in common: They are both additionally charged with the notorious "inside job" kidnapping and robbery of 6ix9ine last July.
According to Ellison's lawyer, his client's motivation for his day in court is to get 6ix9ine to take the stand and make the accusation publically.
Today, in a hearing for Ellison, attorney Deveraux Cannick accused 6ix9ine of staging the kidnapping.
"No robbery or kidnapping or assault happened," Cannick argued in fedral court. "It didn't happen. He had an event that made it look like a robbery or kidnapping."
According to Cannick, the government had wired the car where the kidnapping allegedly took place and he believes the recordings will show it was all a fake.
As for 6ix9ine's motivation for putting himself in the hospital:
"He was about to drop an album," Deveraux said, referring to Dummy Boy, which ended up getting delayed. "He trolls every time he's about to drop another album. Gotta get your buzz up. That's how you make money."
Hmmm. Not the worst argument. And one plenty of folks made at the time of the incident. We'll see how it holds up in court.
