Yesterday, Teka$hi 69 was arrested at New York's JFK Airport on an outstanding warrant from Texas, involving a January incident in which he put his hands on a 16-year-old heckler in a Houston mall.
He'll remain in jail until at least July 2oth after a judge denied him bail.
At a hearing today, 69 tried to convince the judge that he needed to get out so he could support his mom. But the judge wasn't buying it, telling 69 his recent European tour suggested he wasn't taking the Texas warrant seriously and that his multiple arrests in 2018 are testing the terms of the plea deal he took in his notorious child sex case. He also deemed 69 a "flight risk."
On July 20th, 69 will get his Texas extradition hearing. After that, we'll see if his lawyers can get him out or if he spends the summer locked up in the Houston heat.
