Ever since Black Star dropped their 1998 classic, Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star, fans have been clamoring for a follow up.
In 2020 it seemed like they might get their wish because Kweli said that a new LP produced by Madlib was on the way.
But the group ran into problems and the album never arrived. Kweli later went on social media and told fans that,"Too many greedy people in the way stopping us from working with Madlib."
Then Yassin Bey, aka, Mos Def, said he wouldn't be forced to do another Black Star album.
But in a Sunday, February 27th Instagram post, Kweli suggested that the new Black Star project was on its way.
"The new Black Star album was recorded in hotel rooms and dressing rooms across the globe. I love how my brother @yasiinbey pushes me musically. #blackstarforever follow @blackstarkeepshining today."
