At 40, Black Star emcee Talib Kweli could be considered an old head.
But he's not the type to tell the next generation to get off of his lawn.
Kweli defended this era of rappers on his always active Twitter account when a follower suggested the new emcees couldn't compete with the talent from rap's golden era. Then Kweli named eight rappers he thinks are headed for legendary status.
@jinglepocket @TalibKweli nah. won't withstand scrutiny. needs to be explored. no Rakim, ATCQ, Bahamadia, Pharcyde, etc. counterparts today

People forget the primary subject of real hiphop from 20-30 years ago was the ubiquitous "wack MC." Cuz there was a lot of wack shit out. — Talib Kweli Greene (@TalibKweli) May 17, 2016

Do you agree with Kweli's list? (RTJ is Killer Mike and El-P of Run The Jewels.)
If not, who would you add or subtract?
