T-Pain Says Kanye West's '808s & Heartbreak' Was Direct Copy Of His Album

Kanye West's 2008 album 808s & Heartbreak is famous for its use of auto-tune.

In fact, West brought auto-tune king T-Pain into the studio to help him with the tech.

While those sessions didn't result in T-Pain getting any song credits on the album, T still believes he had a huge influence on the finished product.

"I'm not just being a dick saying that shit sounds a lot like mine," T-Pain told Billboard. "Like literally [Kanye] told me that he listened to Rappa Ternt Sanga and he made 808s & Heartbreak" "He even brought me in to make it sound more like [Pain's debut album] Rappa Ternt Sanga," he continued. "Something that I did that was directly copied got so many awards -- that's evidence right there."
T-Pain has long said he felt unappreciated after 808s release because he didn't credit for its auto-tune sound.
