T.I. discussed the Nicki Minaj, Cardi B beef during an appearance he made on Rap Radar with Cardi
The visit was to promote their new rap competition show with Chance The Rapper called Rhythm + Flow. During the chat, Tip said he's confused about why people pit the two female artists against each other.
T.I. also responded to the backlash he received for putting displays of Cardi and Nicki next to each other in his Lil Trap House Pop Up Exhibition In Los Angeles earlier this year.
"Everybody [was like], 'How could you? [Cardi] hasn't been rapping long enough. She ain't put out enough. You're being disrespectful to Nicki.' When does celebrating two queens become disrespectful to one? I never understood that," said Tip. "This is an acknowledgment. Both of these young ladies have struggled and overcame obstacles and defied the odds to put themselves in positions to represent [themselves] and the next generation."
"Why in the hell are you trying to pit one against the other?" he added. "Whether they have their own personal differences, that ain't my job to perpetuate that. And I ain't got to choose a side. Unlike you miserable, lonely motherf*ckers, I have my own opinion. I'm a free thinker, and free thinkers think freely."
