T.I. has finally apologized for hymen-gate.
Last year, T.I. was widely criticized for his admission that he still takes his 18-year old daughter Deyjah on annual hymen check-ups to prove she's still a virgin.
Deyjah finally spoke on Tip's gyno-behavior during last week's episode of T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle.
"I'm embarrassed, for sure. I'm trying to put it in the back of my mind so I'm not really thinking about it. I know it's not healthy. But I've been doing that since I was a child," Deyjah said.
She added that she doesn't necessarily think T.I.'s obsession with her virginity, and the questionable science behind hymen checks, make him a bad dad, but that it has made her "look at him differently."
While T.I. had initially blown off hymen-gate as not that serious, Deyjah's recent words have changed his mind and he apologized to his daughter.
"I realize how inappropriate the conversation about Deyjah on the podcast may have been and I hold myself accountable and take full responsibility," Tip said. "I was wrong. I am willing to accept full accountability, one hundred percent, for everything I may have said that shouldn't have been said."
"I apologize to Deyjah. You know I love you. You know I've always gone above and beyond to do everything and anything possible to make you happy and keep you protected. However, I must now acknowledge the fact that you've now become a young lady," he continued. "I understand that. Some lessons are harder than others, but the important thing is - make sure you get the lesson."
