T.I. Says if 50 Cent Were From The Midwest He'd Be Nelly

T.I. and 50 Cent's back and forth started as banter but it may turn into something else after Tip's recent interview.

The Atlanta rapper was a guest on Ebro in the Morning Thursday and Fif's name came up.

Tip challenged 50 to a Verzuz battle earlier this week, which the G-Unit leader didn't take seriously. 

Fif's name was mentioned after Tip said that some New York rappers get praise just because they're from New York.

"New York is the birthplace of Hip Hop and they have the most successful, some of the most talented lyricists known to man,” Tip explained. “But even though they have those lyricists, some of the most capable and accomplished lyricists known to man, it’s some bullsh*t that slid through there that y’all hold up at high regard, that if they was from somewhere else it wouldn’t have been the same."

“Just being real,” he answered. “If 50 Cent were from the Midwest he’d be Nelly. Nelly got two diamond albums.”

Is he right and is there anything wrong with being Nelly?
