SZA Talks About The Biggest Challenges Of Fame

by Daryl Nelson

SZA has been opening up a lot lately. She recently said she regrets getting a BBL

Now, the TDE singer is talking about fame and how bothersome it can be.

She spoke to British Vogue about it while she and the journalist were walking around in London. During the walk, SZA thought a man was taking a photo of her when he was actually filming a tall pagoda.

The 35-year-old used that moment as an example of how fame often messes with her head.

"It always exposes the ego and vanity when you’re in historical [places] or beautiful nature and you’re like, 'It’s clearly me,'" SZA explained. "But that’s the psychosis of fame. It makes you so paranoid. You’re not even in touch with reality, because you’re so scared."

"Every day I grapple with, 'Am I done with music?' Maybe I’m just not meant to be famous – I’m crashing and burning and behaving erratically. It’s not for me because I have so much anxiety," she continued. "But why would God put me in this position if I wasn’t supposed to be doing this? So I just keep trying to rise to the occasion. But I’m also just like, 'Please, the occasion is beating my ass.'"
