Summer Walker is one of the few prominent millenial R&B singers, along side people like Kehlani, Teyana Taylor and Jhené Aiko.
Walker — who's also made a name for herself by posting thirst traps — spoke about the current state of R&B music with those ladies for a Billboard article. In that write-up, Walker said that today's R&B is better than rap music.
“R&B is better than the Hip Hop of 2020 to me because that can get super shallow and repetitive,” she said. “Or there’s the whole mumble rap trend, where you don’t even know what they’re saying. We’re really opening up, getting deeper — and that’s good.”
Is Walker right here?
