Styles P says if Triller doesn't do right by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, then Hip Hop fans should boycott Verzuz.
Swizz and Timbo sold the popular battle series to Triller in January of last year. But things went south at some point and it was announced this week the producers sued the video-sharing company for $28 million.
The men claim that Triller missed out on payments, but the company says the dispute is over just one payout.
"Only one payment of $10 million is in question," a Triller rep told TMZ. "We do not believe they have met the thresholds for that payment yet, which include, but are not limited to, delivery of a set number of VERZUZ events for 2022. We have been trying to resolve this amicably and this does not affect VERZUZ operations or Triller’s ownership of VERZUZ. If this does proceed in court, we look forward to a judgment that weighs all the facts."
Again, if Triller doesn't smooth things over with Swizz and Timbaland, Styles P said Hip Hop fans should take action.
"Hip Hop is always a lot of funny sh*t in it," said The Lox member. "So people should start sticking with [what] they said they was going to do from the beginning. Shake somebody’s hand, sign a paper, say you’re going to do a deal and if the deal is right, there shouldn’t be any problems. Hip Hop people shouldn’t f*ck with it if Swizz and Timb ain’t involved. I sure wouldn’t. I wouldn’t watch it at all."
