Last month, Puff Daddy sued spirits giant Diageo, claiming they stopped promoting and limited the distribution of his DeLeon tequila after they purchased George Clooney's Casamigos tequila for a billion dollars in 2017.
Puff argued that racism was behind their decision to promote another's celebrity booze over his celebrity booze.
"Cloaking itself in the language of diversity and equality is good for Diageo’s business, but it is a lie," the lawsuit read. "While Diageo may conspicuously include images of its Black partners in advertising materials and press releases, its words only provide the illusion of inclusion."
He is seeking billions.
Not surprisingly, Diageo has ended their relationship with Puff.
"Mr. Combs’ bad-faith actions have clearly breached his contracts and left us no choice but to move to dismiss his baseless complaint and end our business relationship. We have exhausted every reasonable remedy and see no other path forward," Diageo said in a press release today.
They also called Diddy's lawsuit a "sham action."
In addition to DeLeon, Diageo had been partnering with Puff on Cîroc vodka.
