50 Cent proved a rapper can declare bankruptcy and still act like a boss.
But Snoop Dogg didn't want to test that.
During a chat with the Business Untitled podcast Snoop admitted that there were multiple times in his career when things got so bad bankruptcy was on the table. But pride prevented him from pulling the trigger. [Jump to 13 minutes.]
“There were times in my career where it got so bad my accountant was like, ‘We should just do bankruptcy. My pride got involved. Fuck that. If I say bankruptcy then I look like I fucked off everything," Snoop said. “They started telling me, ‘Well, this artist did it and this person did it.’ I said, ‘None of them muthaf*ckas Black. You ain’t name nobody that look like me. They can do that sh*t and get back in the game and it won’t look crazy. When we do it, ‘Oh, that n*gga f*cked off his money, he ain’t shit.’ So now we gotta start three feet behind the line again.”
