Digital Underground rapper Shock G, who scored a massive hit with The Humpty Dance, was known for his prosthetic nose, and helped launch the career of Tupac Shakur is dead at age 57.

Shock was found unresponsive today in a Tampa hotel room.  The cause of death is unknown but there is no sign of trauma.

Shock's Humpty Hump alter ego was instantly recognizable in the early nineties.  He was tight with 2Pac, who joined Digital Underground in 1991 and was featured in their song and video for "Same Song."  G Shock would go on to be one of the producers on Pac's debut album 2Pacalypse Now and was featured on his track "I Get Around."

He also produced tracks for Dr. Dre and Prince.

RIP.
