There's no better way to pay homage to your all-time favorite athlete than rocking his throwback jersey.
Mitchell & Ness sporting goods have put together a nifty list of the best-selling vintage jersey in each of the 50 states.
Most of it has a clear logic to it -- Larry Bird in Massachusetts, Patrick Ewing in New York, Joe Montana in California, etc.
But things get interesting in states that don't have pro teams. Alabama's best selling throwback jersey is Ryne Sandberg, even though the current Philadelphia Phillies manager played in Chicago and Philly and is from Washington State. Then there's some strange thing going on with Vince Carter and New England.
Overall, Kobe Bryant is the athlete with the most states, seven.
