RZA has faced some backlash after auctioning off the only copy of the Wu Tang album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin to pharmaceutical villain Martin Shkreli.
He addressed that in an interview with Bloomberg TV.
RZA admits he met Shkreli before he made the $2 million purchase, but wasn't able to get much of a read on him.
Host John Heilman then read RZA a bunch of quotes from Shkreli, including one in which he calls RZA arrogant and says that the 46-year olds plan to auction off the album had backfired.
RZA took that in stride, conceding that maybe he is arrogant. But he wouldn't admit that selling the album to Shkreli was a bad idea.
"He bought it, he can do what he wants," RZA explains. "I can never discriminate who appreciates art."RZA also spoke on the alleged clause that allows Bill Murray one chance to steal the album back from whoever bought it. Sadly, there is no such clause.
