Rick Ross's verse on Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy track 'Devil In A New Dress' may be the high point of his many collaborations with 'Ye and are some of the most notable bars of his career on any track.
But it almost wasn't that way. When Ross first submitted his verse for the track, Kanye balked and told him to do it over. It was the first time that ever happened to the Bawse, but it was cool since it was Kanye.
"When I recorded that verse for the first time, he came in, heard it and he told me he thought I could do better and he walked out," he told Complex, "And then I wrote another one and the second verse I wrote is the one you hear on the album which a lot of people consider one of Rozay best verses. Shout out to Yeezy."
"No one has ever asked Renzel to re-do a verse," he continued. "I wasn't offended because I knew he was sincere and I just said, 'You know what?... I know it's new for me but I'mma take this as you know, a big brother pushing me to go to another height.'"
Kanye is known as much for his ear as he is for his erratic behavior. It looks like that famous good taste struck again with Ross on "Devil."
