Lil Dicky isn't dropping a lot of music these days, as he's become more of a television star.
But he had a pretty good run as a comedy rapper with bars and a flow to match some of the guys who were doing it for real.
His 2014 track "Save That Money" featured Rich Homie Quan.
RHQ reflected on working with Dicky and what he learned in an interview with HipHopDX.
"He doesn’t get as much credit as he deserves,” Quan said of Dicky. “His mind… he reminds me of a Kanye. And I say that in a good way. Not Kanye Kanye, but perfectionist Kanye, you know what I’m saying?”
While Dicky jokes in "Save That Money" that he only paid Quan for half a verse, that wasn't the case.
“[The song] was his idea. He pulled up to my house to shoot it, but he paid me my full price,” Quan added. “But his mindset, his creative control… I learned so much from him in that little time we spent together.
According to Quan, Dicky remains one of his true Hip Hop friends.
