Since the dawn of the entertainment industry performers who deviated at all from the male archetype have had their sexuality questioned. While the dark cloud of homophobia has shaded most of these discussions, in the case Young Thug it's a little different; the 23-year old seems to actively encourage the confusion by referring to male friends as lovers, hubbies and baes.
Thugger has called his frequent collaborator Rich Homie Quan his "hubbie" in the past. But, as Quan explained in an interview with Sway, people should read too much into that.
"First and foremost I try not to get into all the comments, because it be so many, but at the same time I see them. If I respond back to that, that’s what they want me to do. Everyone in Atlanta know me and Young Thug is not gay. With Thug it’s different, it’s just his slang. I don’t take nothing of it or nothing. I know I ain't gay, everybody know I ain't gay... I get a joke out of it, ’cause it’s just so funny how people will take anything and run with it."Later in the interview, Quan mentioned how impressed Birdman was with he and The Thugger's work ethic, which should further fuel the speculation that the two ATLers will soon be on Cash Money.
