The trade of Donovan Mitchell to the Cleveland Cavs for Colin Sexton, Lauri Markkanen, Ochai Agbaji, three first-round picks, and two pick swaps was a surprise.
Everyone figured the Jazz would trade Mitchell to the Knicks, his hometown team, or a glamorous location like Miami.
According to Ric Bucher, Utah sent Mitchell to Ohio to punish him.

Nightlife aside, getting to play with a young core in Cleveland, rather than the underachieving squad in New York, can hardly be considered a punishment.
