Report: Kanye West Is The Richest Black Person In US History

Thanks to a new valuation of his Yeezy brand, Kanye West is the richest Black person in US history.

Financial firm UBS Group AG says that Yeezy is now worth between  $3.2 billion and $4.7 billion, thanks to partnerships with Adidas and Gap.

Kanye also has $122 million in cash and stock, $110 million from his music catalog, and $1.7 billion in other assets, some connected to his estranged wife Kim Kardashian.  Add it up and you get around $6.6 billion, making him the richest African American ever.  Businessman Robert Smith would be second richest at $5 billion.  (Amazon boss Jeff Bezos is the richest person overall at $180 billion.)

Brand valuation can be tricky and we're going to throw a flag here and say UBS Group AG's valuation of the Yeezy brand is BS.

Nevertheless, Ye is very rich.
