On the Scorpion cut "Is There More", Drake made it clear that his record deal with Cash Money had ended.
“Yeah, soon as this album drop I’m out of the deal/In the house playin’ D’Angelo, ‘How Does It Feel?‘”
According to Variety, when Drake does sign that new deal he'll accompany the announcement with another project.
Which means we could have more Drake really soon.
Variety went on to say that if Drake goes the traditional major label route for his next deal he should expect an advance of $15 to $20 million per album.
However, Drake could instead opt for a streaming deal with Apple Music or Spotify or even a touring package with Live Nation, which would bundle his recorded output with a touring deal. The economics of those second two options would be hard to predict because they are unusual. But it's a safe bet that if Drake chooses one of those options it's because he's getting seriously paid.
