The upcoming book Baby Girl: Better Known As Aaliyah makes a rather startling revelation about the death of Aaliyah.
Kingsley Russell's family ran the cab company who took Aaliyah to the Bahamian airport right before her plane went down. Russell, who was 13 at the time, told the book's author Kathy Iandoli that Aaliyah didn't want to get on the plane when she saw how small it was and began actively protesting the trip
Aaliyah was already woozy with a headache when the cab delivered her to the airport. As they debated the travel arrangements, her team gave her a sleeping pill. She passed out and never gave her consent to fly
Instead, they took her unconscious body onto the plane that would crash upon takeoff, killing everyone aboard.
Aaliyah was 22.
