23-year-old Brooklyn rapper KJ Balla was shot to death in a driveby last night in his hometown shortly after bragging on video that he “cannot die in the street”
The incident occurred last night at 9:45 p.m along Bradford Street near New Lots Avenue in New Lots.
Balla and another man were standing outside a building when an unidentified gunman pulled up, opened fire, and sped away.
The other man was hit in the abdomen, back, and arm and is in stable condition. Balla, whose music had millions of spins on YouTube and Spotify, died in the hospital with wounds to his upper abdomen.
Like Pop Smoke, Balla is affiliated with the Woos, a Brooklyn gang collective who the authorities say are involved in a nihilist knock out game with rival NYC collective the Choos.
In February, 34 Woos and Choos were arrested in connection with 13 shootings.
RIP, KJ Balla.
