Rap Hits Dubious Milestone On Hot 100

It's been a rough run for rap.

Travis Scott finally broke the genre's long streak without a number-one album when Utopia topped the charts three weeks ago.  (It's remained at the top since.)

But there's another even longer streak that remains.

It's been a full year since a rap song hit number one on Billboard's Hot 100.

The latest non-rap song to hit number one is Oliver Anthony's "Rich Men North of Richmond."

This week, the previously unknown country singer becomes the first artist ever to snag a number one without any previous chart activity.

Gucci Mane is trying to sign Anthony.
