Pop Smoke was shot and killed on Wednesday morning in Hollywood, Calif. He was just 20 years old.
TMZ reports that 2 men wearing hoodies broke into his house in the Hollywood Hills at about 4:30 a.m. They fired several shots and fled on foot. Pop Smoke was later taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood, where he was pronounced dead.
There hasn't been anyone caught or named in the shooting, and no word if Pop Smoke knew who the gunmen were. One man was detained by police afterwards but was let go after it was learned he wasn't involved.
Pop released two projects during his come-up. The mixtape Meet the Woo in 2019 and the album Meet the Woo 2, which had a 36K opening last week.
Most probably became familiar with the Brooklyn rapper after he dropped the song "Welcome to the Party" and did a remix with Nicki Minaj. He did a cut with Travis Scott named "Gatti" as well.
Pop was also in the news recently after he and Casanova squashed their beef.
Rest in peace, Pop Smoke.
