Trone didn't pull the trigger. His unnamed 17-year-old son gunned the rapper down at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles restaurant in Los Angeles in 2022. However, the boy was ruled unfit to stand trial because he lacks the mental competence to follow a criminal proceeding and will instead be prosecuted as a juvenile.
Prosecutors said Trone set up the killing and drove the getaway car.
A co-defendant, Tremont Jones, was also found guilty of robbery and conspiracy, but not murder, and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
A third defendant, Trone's wife Shauntrel Trone, pleaded no contest to accessory after the fact in July. She'll be sentenced in January.
