The Weeknd's Dawn FM came without a lot of the promo that had been typical of Weeknd's last few albums.
Its sales may have suffered for it.
HitsDailyDouble is projecting Weeknd's fifth album will have a first week between 150-175K.
Weeknd's last album After Hours did 444K first week. His 2016 album Starboy did 348K and his 2105 effort Beauty Behind the Madness clocked a 412K opening frame.
The Weeknd has said he doesn't care about opening weeks, and didn't ship physical copies, which may have deflated his numbers.
Nevertheless, that's a disappointing opening. Especially considering the long legs of After Hours.
