Music's latest copyright lawsuit has a bit of a twist.
Omarion and DJ Mustard have been sued by BMG Rights Management because their hit song 'Post To Be' is allegedly identical in pitches, intervals, rhythmic durations and beat placement to the 2014 Chris Brown ft. Akon track 'Came To Do.'
And, yes, Chris Brown (along with Jheno Aiko) was featured on 'Post To Be'.
The lawsuit comes from BMG Rights Management because Redwine, who co-wrote 'Come To Do', had assigned BMG 50 percent of his rights to the song.
According to the Jasmine Brand, BMG is "demanding an injunction against the label and Omarion from continuing to illegally profit off their work along with accounting for the his album sales and damages up to $150k per time they infringed on 'Came To Do' and no less than $300k in actual damages."
